Default People who know about Go-Pro cameras…..need help

I am curious if there is a way to control them by a switch?
I have a vehicle that I would like to install the camera to turn on/record when the key is turned on.

Obviously I have no idea about these cameras at all, never even touched one.

    Is my dream possible?

My Hero5 Session has voice control, that's a lot easier than any wiring. Just say "start recording".

How the hell do you upload the video to youtube while using a mac desktop? I always get an error message. Hopefully Payso chimes in, I bet he would know the answer to any question that could pop up in here.

Putting on a customer vehicle, cant depend on them to do anything...Don't really want them doing anything other than driving like they normally do. Even better if they don't know its even there.

I'd call Go Pro and ask. I think you would have to cut one up to do it. To begin recording (manually) you just push a button. So you would have to remove button and hardwire in a switch that gets power from keyed on source.

No, you can't set up a GoPro to work that way. You'll need to use something else that's meant for dash cam usage.

There is actually a ton of hack information available to do with these...
I've still yet to even lay a hand on one.
