Make sure your framing does not have high and low spots. If so, shim/alter as needed. Composite decking flexes more so it does not hide irregularities like real wood.

    Boxers FTW!!

    Deck looks awesome BTW
I used to be 'with it'. Then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm 'with' isn't 'it', and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me.......

I like it without the rails, add a few planters
around the edge & call it good!
Depending on the height, code may force him to add rails. When we bought our house, the seller was forced to add the rails even though the deck is only about 20" off the ground.

Already started installing railings guys. Wouldn't want my 3 & 5 year old boys taking a spill off the edge

Here is the railing so far. It's about 80% complete.

Just used cedar posts and 2x4's with powdercoated aluminum spindles. I used Sherwin Williams Duration paint. It's the best exterior paint I've Ever used.

Pine tree is going bye bye soon. The pine cones started dropping SAP. Got it cleaned up with wd40 and covered it up. Anybody recommend a good tree company in North Oakland County? I've called several an only got one quote so far. Must be their busy season??

Coming along but slowly, it's a pretty large project.
