Thread: Looking for a good welder or weld shop

Default Looking for a good welder or weld shop

I designed a set of custom steering knuckles and I need them welded up. Got them back from CNC a few days ago. I have a MIG & TIG but this project is out of my equipments ability. Looking for dual shield or metal cored welding on this project by a knowledgeable welder.

    All parts are A36

Knuckle is 1.5" thick, ball joint mount and tie rod mount are approx 1" thick. I am using boxed in 3/8" plate to attach the knuckles to the ball joint and tie rod mount.

    Here are a few pics

Woody at Mayo welding in Royal Oak knows his stuff. He was probably welding before most of us were born. Lol

Ding ding ding. F150 is right

1 3/4" drop knuckles. Did a coilover conversion with tubular lower control arms. Getting this thing to handle better.

This pic has the stock knuckles so I could move it around. Front is 1 3/4" higher than rear. Bumper cover is off and fitting the cowl hood. Chrome wheels are going next year, getting aluminum.

It will be at or near 800 rwhp this season on e85. Super duty trans with billet internals. Super duty transfer case. Custom driveshafts from shaft masters. A ton of goodies in/on the engine.

Just an update here. Allied Welding near my shop got me all set up. Dropped them off and picked them up next day. Had them powdercoated silver yesterday and I assembled everything today.

Looks good. About as close to car porn as your gonna get.
