    Default Fun Neighbor Thread

First things first - Yes, I know I have pics in here, but they are located and linked on Imgur and not taking up Motowns space

Krazybones was having trouble with his neighbor and I had trouble with mine for 20+ years. This is an update about white trash neighbors. It seems even with all of the hints, they never change...

I got tired of all of the junk. It took me 20 years of talking to them, begging them to stop driving their bikes and go karts thru my yard and after 3 generations of white trash never changing, I decided to put up a fence. All of a sudden, their 4 dogs quit barking everytime I went into the back yard and no one was driving stuff thru my yard.

Their next door neighbors also got fed up and put up their fence 2 years later. Here is the common theme – I had my lot surveyed and the day I was doing the fence, my neighbor came over to me saying the stakes were wrong and said I was at least 5 feet onto their property. Of couse I wasn’t…Fast forward 2 years, when their next door neighbors had their lot surveyed, they gained at least 30 feet and the bad neighbor said the same thing to them, that the survey was wrong. The bad neighbor lost all of their parking spaces since they used to park their cars and trailers along side of their garage. Come to find out, the bad neighbors garage was built 3 feet from the lot line which was code back then. But, they still do store all of their trash there for good luck…

As you can see, nothing has changed in the 5 years since I put the fence up, just gotten worse…Putting the fence up was the best thing I ever did...

Right after I finished the fence...

Fence today - I powerwash it every couple years and spray sealer onto it every year. Keeps it looking nice...

Behind the fence when first finished

Neighbors got tired of their trash always ending up in their yard so they added a fence and their yard got 3x bigger after they had it resurveyed.

Alongside the neighbors red fence today

Behind my fence today - Nice, isn't it?

Your yard looks nice! The neighbors...... Not so much. Had to laugh at the coolers stacked up with the other junk. As dirty as the outsides are I can only guess what the insides look like. LOL

I don't know, but even though I called on them a few times for the trash and the dogs, nothing has been done. There isn't house in my sub worth less than 300K, but these people live along South Blvd and not in the sub. Those homes were built in the 40's and these neighbors are the only ones who don't keep their house neat, or cut their lawn. Like I said, putting the fence up was the best thing I had done in a long time.

Call the city and tell them you saw rats in their yard. The city will pay them a visit in no time.

Alright...I actually just "E" mailed the Troy Code Enforcement guy...Lets see what happens...

Probably too wordy, but I have never really complained to the city about them...Maybe just once or twice and it was a long time ago.

    Mr. Evans,

I have lived at 6955 Vernmoor for 29 years now. I finally got tired of the neighbors behind me constantly riding their bikes or driving their go karts thru my back yard to gain access to my sub (Glenmoor Estates) so after 24 years, I finally got a permit and put up a privacy fence, not because I wanted to, but because I HAD to. I was hoping they would change after all of their surrounding neighbors had asked them to quiet down and respect one another’s property. Two years after I put up my fence, both of his next door neighbors also put a fence up to stop the constant barking of their 4 dogs and their dis-respect of everyone else’s property.

Since the City of Troy doesn’t respond to barking dog or animal complaints in general, it gives people free reign to do what they want regarding animals.

While the shooting, firecrackers, large yard fires, dog barking and trash being thrown into my yard hasn’t really stopped, we don’t notice it as much due to the fence. This is still a constant thing with them and it goes on at all hours of the night. They have recently hooked up a police/fire siren to one of their vehicles and now also run that at all hours. Last year the fire department came out to their house on 2 separate occasions at night due to the large open fires in the yard and burning embers going everywhere.

Over the past weekend we redid some edging around our large tree near the fence. While clearing out some of the sod and laying down fresh cedar chips around the trees, we noticed rats/mice scurrying about coming from the neighbor’s yard. This really isn’t the first time we’ve noticed them, but since we were working in the area for a few days straight, it was a lot worse than expected.

Is there any way you can get them to remove their trash and garbage from alongside and behind their garage? That and their trash leaning up against the fence is causing it to bow. The other times I’ve asked them to do something, they totally ignore my request and make life worse. Please look at the attached pictures….Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

    Thank you….
