It is a difficult question and I see both sides of the debate. I don't like the idea of the government regulating something that is a right guaranteed to me in the constitution... but I also don't want people carrying who don't understand the responsibility that comes with it and handles it appropriately

Being a longtime gun owner and CPL holder, and someone who is in the business of selling guns, this law scares me. As stated above anyone with a clean record can come in, buy a gun and carry it with absolutely no training. You should see some of the mental giants that come in and buy guns. At least now with the current law they need to have a little training before they can carry.

If they want to do something and make it easier for people to conceal carry, make the classes and permits free.

I know. It will never happen.

Its like giving out drivers licenses to people who have never driven and tossing them the keys.

Volunteers maybe? People volunteer to pick up trash, build homes for the less fortunate, etc. I wouldn't doubt some individuals out there would volunteer their time to train people the proper usage of firearms.

You never know unless you ask. NRA might step up and do it, the unions might offer it as a bonus, Sam's Club or Costco as part of your membership, your homeowners insurance???

Free training by the existing public services (police/fire departments) for those residing in the same district might be an option?
