Default Tremec 3550 trans upgrade worth it

I am thinking on swapping out the aod from my 93 yellow feature car and going with a tremec 3550. A good friend is upgrading and will sell me everything installed for $1400.

Question is are these trans a good upgrade for a foxbody. Figure it's better than a t5

That's a fair price. They are much, much stronger than the T-5, but they don't shift nearly as nice. They are a lot more "notchy". Good upgrade over an AOD though. I had one back in the day, and I have one in my 90 LX cruiser right now.

$1400 installed sounds like a damn nice deal to me.

It looks like that, except it sits a bit lower now. We did it old school, "period correct". 4 lug drag lights, flow masters, tremec, mega-bite sr. rear suspension, etc.

Drag lites are made for fox bodies. Love them. Where do you find the clean foxes? I looked for one before I bought my Z28 but most of them were beat pretty badly.
