A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

Ha, sorry. That's the exact type of response I usually get for stuff like that Like TheMan said, some death metal is cool but that means some sucks. I'm diehard but some bands are completely out of control for sure.

If you found that interesting you might be surprised about some metal that's out there. Lots of it is very melodic and there's plenty where you can understand the singer. Fwiw I don't mind real hip hop either!

SXM Octane... for the last 10 years or so I let them find the music for me and then branch out from there. For example, they picked up the more radio friendly music of "I Prevail" and Wayland (which are also from Michigan) but they have some other stuff that is OK.

I tend to prefer the Stone Sour/Slipknot, Metallica, old Three Days Grace, Mudvayne/Hellyeah end of the spectrum.

I tend to stay in the 80's metal and new metal genre. I typed in a band called Sabaton. I personally love this stuff. It's fast paced, energetic power metal. Amazing instrument skills and clear signing. It's kind of uplifting and motivational for me lol Their songs and albums are done in themes. Mainly about war anywhere from knights/Viking days to WWII and such. The pandora station for them will play a lot of other similar bands too which is cool. Dragon force is another similar band.
