I haven't checked them out, but it seems like in the last couple years I've seen used dollys for $400, probably not Demcos.

    Arrow

    I have purchased used Demco's for $400 & $750,
    depending on the model.

One of those used one's I posted the guy was
    only asking $470 for it.

I believe Uhaul is one of the few places that rents
    those.

Sorry about that, I didn't really look at the ads closely.

It did take me sometime to find a good deal on a used
    Demco car dolly.

Is there anyone you car borrow one from? Or is renting
one an option? Is this a one-time use deal?

*Warning* - to own one of these things means always
lending it out, I think others used mine more than me

I ended up renting a trailer from uhaul. I had one years ago and loaned it to a buddy. It was stolen from his house. Still pissed about it.

I need to buy one. In my business I have to transport cars and some have plates (wither or not they're good or not) and some don't. I don't have the room to store my flatbed trailer at my store.

For what its worth, I bought both my Demco car dolly's used
and kept them for many years and sold both for what I paid
for them. Demco is a well known top quality "Kar Kaddy".

Kind of a side topic, but how do dollies do towing larger vehicles? Like a full size bronco?
