I've gone up to The Mounds by Flint and had a good time there, but closer would be better.

That's good news. Bundy Hill down by MIS is a nice place as well. Have not been to the Mounds since 07.

Interesting - will need to keep an eye on this as it develops. I hope it's for all ORVs, not just geared towards full sized 4x4s.

The problem with the Mounds, and possibly this place, is that you really need 10's of miles of trails for a good day of riding. 50, 70, 100 miles of loops. Mounds is basically just a scramble area, and unless you're just looking to goof off in a small area, you've "seen the place" in < 1 hour of riding.

My thoughts exactly. While it will be cool to have, it is not my style. There are some good areas within about two hrs of Rochester Hills with thousands and thousands of acres. That's where I'll be. Still easy to do in one day, Leave at 8 am, get there by 10 am, spend 8 hrs in the woods, drive home.

Its a win win no matter how you look at it, for what most times is a dwindling sport in other states

They have been working on it for about a year or so. Drive past it everyday. They got tires stacked up and u can see them from I-75 right by Mt. Holly...
