    Default Rusty inner door

This is inside of the door on my daughter's car. What can I do to prevent it from getting worse?

Wire wheel, self etch primer, hit it with paint

Or scrape off what you can and hit with some chassis saver/POR 15.

No matter what you do being that its on the seam it will eventually get to the outside.

if it's a factory paint color, buy a better conditioned door of the same color to be its replacement when the time come.

    Used engine oil
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

I usually squirt some engine oil inside the door to keep the inside of the seam wet with oil.
