    Default Turbo Mark VII Time

Dirty Sanchez is a short, easily complete-able project that will consist of wheels, basic clean up and some basic suspension changes.

The car was bought with out a care, I was tired of looking for cars and having them sold before I could get there so, I packed up and traveled to Detroit. After looking at the car from the outside (we go there before the owner did and, the car was locked), I saw that it was straight enough to buy on the spot. Not even a test drive and, money was exchanged and we took the car back to its temporary resting spot where, it sat for a week.

    Day 1:
The car was delivered from the other side of the state.

Thank you Ryan, aka Chuck Norris for all the help in getting this car.

Mind you, even with the stupidly high miles on the car, it fires up on the first hit with out any smoke. So, Ryan sent this while he was on lunch when he saw how clean it was.

After getting the car here, we wasted no time putting on the rear wheels.

    Day 2 (today)

Decided to remove the Plastidip/painted/Nightshaded/what ever it was from the tail lights.

They have since been polished but, I'm to lazy to take the camera out there.

Next up, was the headlights. Granted, these will never be replaced or probably touched again but, they annoyed me so I cleaned them up a bit.

The last thing for the night was to remove the smog system or, at least get that task started. Come to find out, someone took the pulley off of the smog pump yet never took the pump out.

Basic snap shots that make it look cooler than it really is.

Since a certain CTS-V is getting a blower, I had to get premature baby of a turbo.

For the charge piping to fit, I had to cut out a useless piece of the fender apron.

It needs a different coupler for the throttle body but, that'll come in due time.

Got the intercooler installed even though, its far to small for the job.

I've been going back and forth on getting a two new Mark 7 engine harnesses or putting in a Mustang harness since, the connectors for the o2, ignition module and such were burnt to a crisp for some reason. The car doesn't have air ride or emissions and more so those bug chunks of wire are useless any how.

Started taking the interior out to get rid of the dead weight and realized, the seats weight a metric ton. The quest for Kirkeys and a way to mount them has started.

*No trash was removed from its natural habitat in the making of these pictures.

I need to figure out what color to have these coated in. Its between satin black and cast iron. I'm leaning towards cast iron since, that will look original.

Ripped the old carpet out and found, rust free floors. Sadly, I wanted to keep the carpet but, it ripped in some very visble areas when I pulled it out.

Decided to get the interior started since I need to get an engine hoist to pull the motor out, to install the suspension stuff.

Got part of the sound deadening out with nothing more than a putty knife and my hands. Also, that is the insulation from the 1/4 glass area, so much insulation.

    Insulation on the drivers side.

    Hello, little guy.
Sanchez-4773 by Detroit Style, on Flickr

    No more insulation.

When I got the car, only one speaker worked. This may be why, both rears are like this and the cones do not move at all.

This had to be in the car since, it was built.

    I guessed they leaked water.

The wiring project is still under way. Figured out what I need to keep and/or bypass in order to keep the car running. The rest is coming out in the name of simplification.

57mm turbo is mocked into place.

This is what hobby is all about

Is this the car Jacob found out in Shelby? If so that was a helluva deal!

And I personally would leave it rough looking, just to keep the sleeper effect.
