Read the details. They allowed the PD to use their equipment to do what was legally necessary with confiscated firearms. The PD was not allowed to sell them and by law they had to be destroyed. BM didn't advertise that they let it happen. The PD posted a douchy "thank you" on social media and it has been blown out of proportion.

If anyone wants to throw away their Benchmade knives because of this, I'll send you my address.

Matt, read a little deeper, the BM owners made significant donations to the "D" party in the last 3 years. As 1 person stated, the Police could have bought a $99.00 grinder & some cut-off wheels to accomplish this task, or gone to any machine shop in the area. Maybe BM got "duped"...maybe not!. Either way it was a POOR business decision in today's climate, they just could have said NO.

I'm not going to throw out my 1 & only BM knife, but I'll never buy another one. I personally think ZT brand is a little better, that's all.

Regardless of whether or not the guns had to be destroyed, supporting dems is a big negative, especially when so many of their leaders today are radical socialists. BM not get any of my money. This won't be the first company I've boycotted based on their politics.
