    Default tuning, sort of?

I am swapping my silverado step side from v6 to v8. Both vehicles are DBW (99-02) donor is 4wd suburban and my truck is 2wd.

Is it better to reflash current computer to v8 or take the one from donor vehicle and delete the vats?

Also, who or what would you recommend for this?

Engine is completely stock for now, but mods will be on the way shortly. if there is interest in a build thread I will make one as well.

If you want it done locally try Salinas Motorsports, he has done a few reflashes for my buddy. Or you can mail it out and wait for that.

Someone suggested hp tuners, but it seems expensive for what I want to do.

I think my buddy paid $150 to have his computer set up. Remove vats and some 02 sensors.

and I'd just flash your current PCM with the needed calibration, that way your VATS is good, VIN, etc.
