Long story short....

I wake up this morning and my wife shows me a Bday card that was delivered with our mail yesterday. It was open and some money was missing. I was kind of mad but shit happens. I figured it went to the wrong house and someone opened it and kept it (mail gets misdelivered in our neighborhood quite often). Fast forward a couple hours and the mail gets dropped off today. I bring it in and there is another Bday card, opened again. All other envelopes are intact. One card was for my wife with no money and the other was for my kid. Both from the same aunt and both postmarked on 10/7.

Not sure if I should report it or even where to report it to.

Yes, go to the post office that delivers your crap. Not saying that anything will come of it, but I'd definitely go and bring it up with the postmaster of that location. I've dealt with the postmaster at the location office to me and have had good luck with help.

report to your postmaster...….that's actually a Federal Crime

Report it immediately. That'll only harbor more criminal activity if gone unaddressed.

Could someone be stalking your mailbox? I have a slot in my front door so once it is in the house it is safe, but if your stuff is on the street, that could be what is happening too.

Do you know if the mailman/lady is generally the same person everyday or do they staff your route with different/temp employees frequently?

Ultimately they (USPS) are gonna have to figure out if the theft is happening inside the post office (building) during the sorting process, on the route itself (the guy or gal in the Jeep or Grumman) or post-delivery (local hoodlums pilfering valuables out of mailboxes).

Contacting the Postmaster is a good start but I'd still contact the USPS Inspectors (can file online) as well in case the Postmaster is turning a blind eye to multiple "problem employees" under their watch at their building:
