Default Need Tires for the Camaro that Don't Suck in the Rain

So with 24k miles the Goodyear run-flats are almost bald. Also, they totally suck in the rain. I am talking can't go 45 mph in the rain without hydroplaning bad. Took the car out to Colorado this summer and almost died every time it rained. Not doing that again! Would like to put a three season tires on, not a summer only (eyeing some MRR wheels next year and will put some Nittos on those).

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

Run flats are trash to begin with. Got rid of them off my C5 within first year.

I’m running the Continental DW extremes now. No issues in rain and they’re especially great in dry.

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

Stay away from Michelin pilot sports. I have them on my 2016 GT and they don't do well with heavy rain and aren't recommend below freezing temps. I have always liked Toyo, but Nitto was not bad either.

Which ones are you running - the Extreme Contact DWS 6 or the Sports?

I search these and it comes up as an SUV tire - do people run them on Camaros or Mustangs?

Those Pilot's are supposed to be the best summer only tires, I won't miss that $350 a tire price-tag though. Nitto makes those Motivos which have some pretty good reviews. I like those 555's for summer only too.

Not going to drive in winter. But next time I get caught in a torrential rain while driving through Nebraska I need to be able to keep the car on the road at 45.

    Thank you.

Geoff, lots of guys run the atturos on challengers and chargers. I thought they were amazingly good, especially given the price point. No problem in rain, reasonably quiet, and I ran a 4.3 0-60 in my bone stock manual trans challenger with them. They hook very well for a non-drag radial. I must admit I did not do alot of hard cornering with them, so maybe there are some comments about that on camaro forums, etc.
