    Default Authentic plate

So thinking about getting an authentic plate for my car, was wondering how much of a hassle it is to drive with one.

Anyone get pulled over more with one? etc

Planning to drive the car but wont be using it to commute or anything like that.

Nope, Authentic plate as in year specific. It's similar to historic plates.

Interesting. But sounds like a lot of hassle especially on a sports car.

I run one, never had an issue. They are good for as long as you own the car. Historical plates expire, these don’t.

I have one on my Chevelle and never had a problem - But as Krazybones would say, you need to drive your car in order to get into trouble

I think Matt also has one on his car....

FWIW - I found a guy who does a most excellent job of restoring your plate - $40 and he is in Sterling Heights near 16 Mile and Mound...

Just keep in mind, authentic plates don't show up in LEIN, which may lead to being pulled over. Historic plates do show up in LEIN.

I've been running authentic plates for about 15 years on several vehicles, and I've never had an issue.
If you ever get pulled over, just remember - there's always a car show somewhere every day of the week. That's where you were headed.
I do recommend buying them in pairs if possible, just to ensure no one has the plate already registered.
And, in case anyone is looking - I like to get mine from Mad Max's in Chelsea:
