Hasn't all this crap been going on with them for a few years now?
Not paying taxes and bills for quite some time from what I vaguely recall.
That's part of it. The owner who is friendly with said pawn shop owner borrowed money. They had an agreement to pay it off. The owner of got sick, heart attack I believe. He stopped making payments. Les called the daughter to find out how he was doing and mentioned the money owed, when instead of making arrangements with him the Daughter responded " call my Lawyer". Les got a quit claim deed and proceeded to try to take possession of the property. 2 attempts by the Sheriffs deputies were unsuccessful. The daughter fought it in court fabricating leases from her father and other tricks. More then once the judge ordered the track to close and she kept it open.
There is at least another investor that has a lot more $$ in it then the pawn shop. They plan to sell to make everyone whole.
There's more to it but these are the cliff notes.

What a fine upstanding citizen that daughter is, based on all the previous stories I've heard about her, I wouldn't expect anything less........

Maybe the owner of lapeer can buy it and make it nice and racer friendly.
Lapeer guy has enough on his plate, with the local lawsuits by there, but its becoming an awesome facility. You can walk on top of the box cars surrounding the track, and above the burnout box.
