    Question F150 To The Rescue?

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/18/some...uEmhUe9SZRl-S8

Some Texans use 2021 Ford F-150 hybrid pickup trucks to power homes amid winter storm

Some 2021 Ford F-150 hybrid pickup owners in Texas are using it to power their homes during the winter storm that’s left millions without electricity and heat.

The truck’s PowerBoost onboard generator “gives you the ability to use your truck like a mobile generator,” according to Ford.

Jerry Hall, 73, told CNBC on Thursday that “the truck saved the day.”

I mean a generator is like $300, vs a new car lol.

^^^ I agree, just stick with my used vehicles and a portable generator.

Very true, but if you already own the truck why not. Also I'm sure there isn't a generator left on the shelf in all of Texas at this point.

So the normal gas trucks can come with a 2000watt generator for $995.

The hybrid trucks come with a 2400 watt gennie standard and you can upgrade to a 7200 watt gennie for an additional $750.

The hybrid powertrain is a 3.5 ecoboost with an additional 47hp/220ftlb electric motor.

Hybrid Powertrain cost is $4500. Hybrid with kickass generator is $5250.

I always tell people they should have a generator, even if they get the $99 one from Harbor freight... It seems like an adult thing to do. Otherwise you lose all of your food in the fridge and have no way for your furnace to heat your house. Also, you should have a transfer switch on your furnace to use generator power and cut power from the grid.

If I were buying a new F150, I would most likely buy this feature/package.
