I still have my 2015 6.2L/8L90E extended cab standard box Sierra. I see no reason to move forward and pay way more for way less. All the current generation trucks gets you is some aluminum and a 10 speed for $12k more. No longer can you get things that I like which are as simple as pause-able radio or as useful as an extended cab Sierra with a 6.2L. In many ways, I think GM keeps ruining the fullsize line of vehicles (cars/trucks/SUVs) at the expense of shitboxes no American wants to own.
The interior usability of the new trucks reminds me of a Dodge Caliber. Not only does it look hideous and cheap, but it also doesn't function well.
The exterior of the Silverado looks like a coked-up Toyota engineer was trying to design a Mitsubishi with Ford Flub-150 aero package.
Other than the 10 speed, nothing has changed since the 2015 model year as far as powertrain.
It's really embarrassing to admit that whatever the shitshow is that owns Ram trucks these days is actually doing a better job.
