What do you seasonal guys do for winter? I’m gonna make the switch but draining the tank seems like a pain in the ass.

2012 5.0, went to E85 a few years ago. For winter storage (from about now until, spring) I run out any funny stuff like C-85 and fill it up with pump E-85 from Speedway. This last batch tested about 88%. Add some of the Lucas E-85 stabilizer and call it good. Peal the cover back a couple times a year and run it for a little while. It's downstairs in a heated garage so it starts pretty good. If it was parked in a cold garage or outside starting it up would be whole another story.

Good info thanks for the tips. I’m assuming you run it some with the stabilizer to get to the injectors?

I run the E out and put 93 in mine for winter, then in the spring I'll run the tank of 93 out of it and go back to E85. I had a GTP that was on it and I drove it all winter on the winter blend E with no problems.

Yes. Put the stabilizer in at the gas station. About a 5 mile ride home.

Unless unleaded is over 4.00 you're not saving anything.

Yea, unless you are running boost or something or your car is tuned to take advantage of it. I haven't followed the GN crowd much but I would have to think E85 might be the ticket once you updated your tank and fuel system, plus of course a massive turbo and sewer pipe size injectors.

I had an E85 lease truck and my average mileage dropped from like 15 mpg to 10 the only time I tried it. Not worth it. New truck is averaging 20ish too on regular, but the Camaro is running $5 per gallon on premium. Maybe it is time for that E85 conversion!

thanks for the assumption.....well its 4.19/4.29 around here, since I just put in 87 octane...

i enjoy 110 octane e85, tooling around town also, and my 33" mud tires (oh dang those aren't helping me either)

i don't know anyone running e85 for savings....but E85 has lots of other ways to enjoy it
