Tundras have been pieces of shit since they came out, but Toyota is an expert at marketing and turd polishing. Tacoma, it's fine, if you like self-lightening vehicles. You may even get a free frame out of the deal!
Self-grenading rear end wasn't limited to the Nissan Titan, it came courtesy of your favorite Tundra with an equally 1/4 ton rated rear end.
Who can forget the iFarce V8s and their camshafts?
What about a steering system that mimics a Kia but wears out even faster and balljoint failures that actually caused you to be unable to steer?
Who builds a tailgate that wrinkles up at the first hint of stress like a Honda Ridgeline's C-pillar? Toyota does! It's Japanese solidarity after all, wouldn't want Honda to feel the shame all by itself.
I could go on and on, but at the end of the day the Tundra is the Camry of the truck world. Barely sufficient, equally embarrassing to drive, but it will get you there, eventually, and if you are ignorant to better options you will be content.
I will be honest though, they have come a long ways. Especially when the phallic looking ones came out in 2007 complete with the droop snoot and a rear axle that didn't look like it belonged in a FJ40. Exercising the lean methodology, Toyota is fine with testing on the customer's dime/time to eventually meet the minimum specification... from half a decade ago.

$2500 ceramic installed by a dealer as well. Lmaoooo! $40k adjustment. Thanks for posting that. How insane.
1999 Z28. A4. Magnaflow catback and a lid. 60k miles.
Seriously, you can get the new 300 Series Landcruiser for close to that.

The MSRP of nearly 50k is already dumb let alone the extra 50k from the dealership. It must be the only one left in California or something.
