Default What is proper etiquette when applying for a job or jobs?

Thinking about applying for a job at a local company. Actually, They have multiple openings that sound interesting. Not sure if applying for more than one position at a company is considered inappropriate. I believe they are using a service to handle potential applicants SO in that case the company itself may not know if I’m applying for more than one position with them. Is it a bad idea to apply for more than one job at a time? Thanks guys.

Every company I know of is having a hard time finding staffing (both blue and white collar). Apply for as many of the jobs as you think you are qualified for....that's my opinion.

Same thought, apply for anything you think you can handle.

I was kinda thinking the same thing because we are hurting for people at my current job but it’s been so long that I didn't wanna look stupid. Thank you

If you have a cover letter just put in there that you are open to different jobs. I always apply with cover letter, resume, and references.

Very good idea. I would like for them to view me as enthusiastic but don’t wanna come off as desperate. Thanks

Thre short paragraphs in cover letter. Make sure it is under one page. About a half page to two-thirds is about right.

-1st hello my name is... a little background on you. Keep it to two or three sentences though.
-2nd I am applying for... here is where you put the meat, so go a little longer if you need too. If you are applying for one job, state that, and add "But I am open for any opportunity you think would be a good fit" or something and even list them. Put why you are qualified for the jobs in here too while trying to sound humble.
-3rd Thank you.... Keep this two or three sentences. Look forward to discussing further.... etc.

    Good luck!
