    Default 1911 experts

I know we have at least one 1911 aficionado on the board that could help me out. My friend inherited a ton of guns from a relative and he has never owned a gun in his life. I’m trying to help him figure out value on some of them. The one in question is a colt government 1911. .45 acp and stamp on it is c34904. The “c” could be a “g” because the gun is in rough shape. From colts website it says it could be 70s era or 1916. Can anyone help me out?

    Send me some pics to:

I'll get you in the ballpark, the more pics the better. Overall condition, and any/all markings on the pistol please, slide and frame markings. Most likely a commercial 1911, and if in rough shape like you say with rust and pitting, it's life is relegated to shooter duty, as refinishing/restoring kills big collector value to most.

Thanks. I sent what I have. I can get more once he’s back in town.
