Thoughts on repairing this dent?

G/F was waiting behind another car in the parking lot aisle and some broad just backed straight out of her spot and smacked into her.

The dent goes through a styling crease/line that I circled in the last pic. You can also see it pushed the skin inward and created a gap where the door closes

Biggest question is the condition of the door bar. If thats bent it needs a full door shell. IMO Prob more cost effective at this point to replace the door skin v repairing it. Will need to blend the fender and rear door in either repair process.

This part leads me to believe the door bar has been compromised but seeing it in person shows more than what a pic can show

I told her that was a concern…. I told her to be prepared for insurance to try to get away with having it pulled out and filled/painted and that she should not accept that because of the side impact bar

No shop or insurance company would risk the safety of that. If they did then the shop and insurance company would be in some serious trouble if there was another impact in that area and injuries occur.

Definitely needs a new door based on the damage at the side impact bar. Years ago, paying out of pocket, I'd pop the door panel off and push what I could out and call it a day.
