Correct, it sounds like she was driving through the parking lot
and was waiting for someone, then was hit. That would be a
"collision claim"

If it was covered under comprehensive it was an error. Any vehicle hitting a vehicle is a collision even if the car is parked. Comprehensive losses are non collision losses.

Collision Claim = 1 or more vehicles making contact with another moving or non moving

Car parked in a parking lot hit while parked by another vehicle = a collision claim
Same car parked in the same lot but a gust of wind pushes a shopping car into it = a comp claim
