I have heard of spinning a bearing but not a spun piston.
how bad is the block

the block is un usable...the cylinder walls are broken and the cam wont come out....i was thinking about trying to make a fridge out of the old block....its an idea ive always had

the reason the rod looks like that is its not meant for that kinda rpm it got weak and just plain out bent.
How high did you spin it? Ive seen so many 302 lives well past 7K.
The question we need to ask is how looooong did you hold it over 6500rpm,after that on a stock set-up you are asking for it!Originally Posted by orangejuiced86

i held first gear to around 6500 and then 2nd to about 6800...the flywheel and the clutch were fine...
