Bump for 2020 remembrance.
Went to Hawaii a few years ago and visited the Arizona memorial. It is almost hypnotizing watching the oil bubble up from the wreck. I would say not to miss a day long Pearl Harbor tour if you ever get a chance to go to Hawaii. We saw Arizona in the morning, had lunch, then they take you to the Missouri and pretty much let you walk around the thing as long as you want. It was a pretty amazing day. It sounds like the Arizona memorial is about to open again too, so once we get past Covid, it should be safe to go back there.

Was there for the 50th Anniversary. Didn't realize at the time what an event it was. Most of the survivors of the attack were still alive at that point, and thousands were there.
80th anniversary today. 12 remaining veterans still alive today.
I was thinking about that this AM...80 years ago, wow. It's amazing there are 12 still alive all have to be late 90s or older.
Who were the heroes of Pearl Harbour? Forgetting to duck doesn't a hero make.
I see a group the Administration was eager to sacrifice to justify a war entrance.
The Japs couldn't' have been more stupid. There were only a few things they could have done to drag us into the war. Bomb Pearl Harbour or invade the Philippines.
I prefer to celebrate V-J Day.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
I am pretty sure that plenty died while aiding their fellow servicemen. Not every comment on this site needs an opposing view.
