I need to start looking for a tripod and head. I think I'm going to need two. One for weddings that I wont care as much if someone knocks it over and a nice carbon fiber one for traveling with and what not. Well all with time of course.

yeah, id love a carbon fiber one but the only way i could get one now is if its used (lower price) but nobody gets rid of them because they are so great so you cant find them used...

so I just went to check out the neotec (bogen) tripod with grip head. neither were to my liking. the head was huge and bulky, the tripod was heavy and seemed a bit gimmicky like it wasnt going to last long. the legs on the tripod are also coated in a fine grease so just touching them and then a camera/lens wasnt in my favorite things to do.

The gitzo he had was old and heavy, i also passed.

yep, no seriously... Im going to wait until i can possibly get a really nice setup ($$). unless I can get an average one for a good price.
