I have a set of those trackbird brackets (with hardware) that I was going to use with the C6 Z06 brakes on my car. Now may be changing direction there. The brackets and hardware are a great set-up. I mocked them up on a spare knuckle I had. That's as close as they ever got to going on my car though. And John pretty much answered everything above. 17" wheels are a must and once you cut the knuckle you can't go back to the stock brakes.

To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" You can say, "Sorry, got these sacks."

I'm still really debating it. My plans for the car are for a H/C/I street car. Right now I have C5 17's but eventually I want some 18's of some sort. Still trying to figure out if I want D/S LS1 rotors or spend the extra $$$ on C5 brakes.

The truck guys are starting to use the C6 Zo6 Caliper. 15 rotor. I like using GM parts and the 6 piston calipers are nice. Any suspension upgrade is going to cost but be worth it.

my budget will only allow me stainless lines and better pads...

I put a set of the NAPA Slotted rotors and their Ceramic saftey Stop sevre duty pads on whitehawks car. It stops every bit as good if not better then a c5 with stock brakes. Not Ideal for a road race car becuase of the slots but the street performance is stellar and they don;t make noise and minimal brake dust.

If your just looking for more stopping power ask Whitehawk about his setup. You should be able to get a set of slotted factory rotors pretty cheap and the NAPA pads work great on those rotors.

I have run the same combo on a very very hard driven C5 and have heard reports back from the driver that the brakes are far superior to stock. While not Hawk pads performance the Ceramic pads are a good blend of noise,Stopping, wear and dust.

Thats what I would upgrade to if I had a 4th gen. Cheap easy and very driveable.

price the pads for those calipers before you decide to do it,

    yea...the 15" rotors are big $$$
EBC I think makes the pads a bit cheaper...I think yoiu get 12. The truck guys dont have many options without going crazy on Brembo/willwood/Baer. They are priced about 1/2.

If you find a Zo6 owner who has upgraded then you might score with the calipers...
