what are you guys running? mid 3's?
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

I have about 200 in my camaro (including the badass airbrush work on the body) and it hasn't even made a full pass yet. Scale 1/4 blowing tires off it made it down the track in .979 seconds at 104 actual mph. (At least I think thats what it ran, I havn't been to our local track since last winter, Im just starting to get everything back out)

I built the car to run Hard Body Bracket (Dial In, Restricted to Hard Plastic or Resin Body Only. Any Size Motor or Tires and Complies With Open Bracket, Runs On .500 Comp. Tree) But we'll see, I don't know how consistant its gonna run. Once you get going decently quick, its hard to get them consistant. Once they are in that range, they are like drag radial mustangs, 1 out of 4 passes is a good one.

So can you just use a normal $20 ERTL 1:25 model kit to build one of these? If so I'm thinking about building a scale model of my own car. I'll even attempt to scale down the timeline 1:24 and get it built in 10 weeks.

Sure depending what class you want to run. To be honest, out of the three cars I currently have, I havn't ran any of them in a specific class, except for my one 67 camaro. I just build them for fun, and mess around on test and tune nights with my buddies. Most people use 1/24 or 1/25 scale cars, so you should be fine with that! My next car will be a replica of my 2000 Z28.

That's exactly what I would do too if I ever built/bought a car.
