Default 2005 F250 6.0L ran out of fuel need some help

My sister-in-law was driving her truck to get fuel and ran out. Yes everyone knows this is bad and a no no but the truck said she still had 60 miles and she was on her way.

    So:
Tried cycling it multiple multiple times trying to get it to prime
    Purged the system
    Changed filters

Just not able to make it run.
Any of you magicians able to fix this in the driveway?

Are you sure she ran out of fuel? The fuel pickup in the tank could have broken off and the fuel level is too low causing the no vroom vroom.

    Well...
I was assuming she ran out of fuel by the way it acted, you bring up a great point. Did not drop the tank top check that stuff only was chasing the assumption.

Its not unusual for the "lie-o-meter" to be off but being off by 60 miles seems like a lot.

Unless it got to the bottom of the tank and got to all of the crap at the bottom that's been there forever. It could have "60 miles" left but it's all water and bad fuel.

At this point, I would take a quick fuel sample.
