Default Another dang Mustang build thread...

Picked up this car a lil while back from a guy at work.

Its been sitting in a garage for 15 years, he started building it, got married, had kids and the car just sat.

Car as I got it has

2x3 frame rails from firewall back
    Full tub's
    Tin work done
    Ladder bars
    Narrowed 9"
    Stretched/sectioned rear quarters
    +2" wheel base
Whole bottom side was sand blasted and epoxy coated
Welds front and rear w/33"x11's under it right now

    Cars going to get 25.5
Will be sporting a mild BBF with a glide hopefully it runs as good as the old red one did.

I really didn't plan on building anything this year as I'm in process on buying a house and expect to close with in the next month, buying it from family which gave me the option to go thru the house before purchase/closing inspection and update, clean etc..

Should have the car done for next year, prob be late in the year but hope to make some hits before snow falls in 13'

I think where most of you have your problems with all of this, is the fact that you really don't fully understand the internal workings and dynamics of the common combustion engine. There is no magic tune up, and motors are stupid. The only time a motor will complain is when something is wrong.

Made a little room the other night to help package the engine. I am really suprised how light the front of these cars are, not at all what I expected it to weight wheni cut it off.

Yeah, need the space. cutting it off will let me fit the front end around the engine vrs the opposite.

I was never a fan but I will say every time I wonder into the garage and look at it, its grows on me a lil more.
