Rendevous was filmed in paris in the mid to late 60s. the producer owned the ferrari.topping speeds 140+. i cant remember what year or kind it was but saw the video first in college in my hi-performance engine class. enjoy.

Sweet vid. But, I question reality. The sounds didn't really match the video. The car was slowing down on screen while the revs were still climbing. It seems rather edited.

I just watched it twice and cant find a spot where this happens..

Are you confusing him down shifting the box while braking?

I think where most of you have your problems with all of this, is the fact that you really don't fully understand the internal workings and dynamics of the common combustion engine. There is no magic tune up, and motors are stupid. The only time a motor will complain is when something is wrong.

I'll watch it again when I get home. It just seemed there were spots that were questionable (like at the 1:05 mark where it looked like he slowed down on film when passing a car on the left - yet the soundtrack was still accelerating, sounding like he's going 100+).

I'm not doubting that the car tore ass through Paris or wherever it was filmed. All I'm saying is, the sounds you hear are not the actual sounds from the run that was filmed. You can hear the audio being mixed/dubbed in at 1:27 and 2:48 for sure. There are other things too....like one of the early straights. The film looks like he's doing about 70 or so while passing some light traffic. Yet, the audio has him at the top of 5th gear. I don't know much about old school Ferraris. But, I'm willing to bet if you're over 5 grand in 5th gear, you're going faster than 70.

It's still a sweet film and I like it. I just wish I could hear the real soundtrack.
