Got the cam driven fuel pump internals today...I had to chase down the mail man, but I got them. Installed in a little under 3 hours, but I took my time.
On the MS3 I would say one of the major downfalls is the weak fuel pump. Even completely stock it can be unsafe...providing <1100 psi of fuel at WOT in the upper rev range. MAXFLO makes an upgraded fuel pump internal kit that can give roughly 50% to 100% more fuel pressure compared to the stock unit, meaning that it can keep the pressures in a good range if the boost is ever raised. Before the pump install I saw fuel pressures drop like a rock at WOT during a 3rd gear pull...hanging around 1400 then tumbling down to under 1000 With the new internals installed I made a similar pull and saw pressures steady between 1500 and 1700 all the way to redline, with good AFRs the entire run. I swear this thing runs better now than it ever has...even when 100% stock

I am basically copying a setup that another owner had when he was running 20+ psi on the stock turbo...he ran a 12.8 I believe on the setup that I currently have. I'm shooting for 18psi to be a bit on the safe side, and am hoping for a mid-13...I figure that's pretty decent for what I am willing to spend. I ran a 13.8 last year with a poorer setup (just a MBC and test pipe), so I think it's doable.
