A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.
Tack weld thru the center of an untreated nut might work.
Harbor freight has a cheap 90* air drill. Works great too. LH drill bits can be picked up at AutoZone. At least they could several years ago. Good luck!
X2 on the harbor freight 90 degree air drill. Whatever bit you use with it will be toast when you're done, but it will drill your bolt out. I bought one to get a header bolt out of my mustang. I chopped the drill bit I had to make it a little shorter, then drilled and tapped a heli-coil into it. Worth the $20.
I think iron as it's an old small block.
It was broken a while before I realized. Surface was fairly smooth and easy for me to centerpunch.
No longer an option as I got part of the stud out last night.
Thanks everyone. I borrowed a 90deg cordless drill from a friend. Picked up a couple of LH drill bits on the way home yesterday. Started drilling and got a chunk of the stud out when I realized I wasn't drilling totally parallel to the stud (I was angled up a little). So gotta play with it some more and see if I can make an easy out work if I am able to get the pilot hole straightened out. At least the 90 deg drill fit and the LH bits I got were chewing through that stud with no problem.
