I know this guy is a douche, but legally how can they take his car?
1) Video doesn't show who is driving
2) No cops were present to issue driving citation to driver
Unless they get the guy to confess to it all, how can they do anything? Even if there are witnesses who support he was driving are they going to take it to court and what would it be for? What would be enough to take your car? Interesting... that they care more about this then everything else going on lol.
they will use this law ...

Driven Crazy
Google civil forfeiture. Be prepared to rage. Cops can seize your property, cash, etc without ever even charging you. They literally just have to SAY that they suspect it’s crime related.
There’s been cases where people have had large sums of money on them for various reasons... a gambler returning from Vegas and a guy going to buy a car are cases that spring to mind. Cops just said “nope, you’ve got $10,000? That’s suspicious and sounds like drug money.” and they confiscate it. It’s maddening
It’s big business for law enforcement agencies and some even send their officers to special classes on how to maximize it.

That is insane, too bad you can't use deadly force to stop a robbery in MI...
I lived in The Woodlands a suburb just north of Houston. It was a really great area.
