found this:
"Today, we have a more detailed breakdown of the weight reduction efforts, including the total reduction number of 216 pounds.
First, the Challenger Demon will have a unique steering column assembly which is four pounds lighter than the one in the Hellcat. SRT also removed the parking sensor system, to trim another two pounds.
Changes to the braking system cuts 16 pounds, a removal of some sound insulation and other “NVH” components cut 18 pounds, lightweight suspension components cut 19 pounds, and the removal of the spare tire/trunk materials cut another 20 pounds.
Finally, the biggest weight cuts in the Challenger SRT Demon comes in the way of the seats – or the lack thereof. The Demon doesn’t come from the factory with a rear seat (cutting 55 pounds) or a passenger seat (cutting 58 pounds). That’s the biggest factor in the 216-pound diet: 123 pounds of seats."

no passenger seat? Seems they took the easy way out on weight reduction. A monkey could save that kinda weight on his stock Hellcat.

Dodge demon. Let's say 80k with no rear seats, no passenger seat. Let's say car runs 10.xxx from the factory. Why not get a hellcat for say 60k with employee discount + tires $600, tune, pulley, driveshaft = $5,000 and run 10.xxx for 66,000????

yea, if the weight reduction just came from primarily stripping the interior I don't see the advantage over the Hellcat other than it being a stat queen.

I wonder if it is supposed to be just a race car like the Cobrajet or Copo?

4 pounds, manual tilt/telescope steering wheel
2 pounds, removed parking sensors
16 pounds, 18×11-inch aluminum wheels with open lug nuts
18 pounds, removed 23 NVH components
19 pounds, smaller diameter, hollow sway bar
24 pounds, removed all speakers except front door speakers
16 pounds, new aluminum brakes: 2-piece, 4-piston Brembos
55 pounds, removed rear seats
58 pounds, removed front passenger seat
20 pounds, removed trunk lining and spare tire/wheel
I suppose insurance costs could benefit from the car only having one seat due to less exposure.
